Christmas is almost here. Too bad everyone has to turn it into such a stressful event. One friend of mine is so worried that other people might get me better stuff than he is. What's up with that?? I firmly believe it's the thought that counts. Everyone just goes out and buys merchandise. You can also call it 'crap to wrap'. One present that shows the giver really put some thought into it is much better than the stuff we get that just goes into the back of a closet. Which will you remember?...the framed print of the painting you've always loved or a gift certificate to JCPenny? And why do we feel obligated to buy gifts for people we couldn't care less about? ... namely coworkers and certain relatives. Sorry about the rant, but I'm really starting to get tired of hearing my friends worry if they are spending enough. I say just make me a card with construction paper and a crayon and I'll be happy. I promise my next entry will be more upbeat. Unless, maybe, I see another commercial for those Hallmark singing snowmen. |
